Matouk throws make great gifts. For a hostess, new parents, college students, corporate gifting, or yourself! Make it personal with a monogram. Contact Fine Linen and Bath for details.

Matouk throws are made from a variety of materials. From 100% cotton Pezzo or Leo throw, to the Amelia Stripe throw that is alpaca, to the Paley throw, that is 100% luxurious cashmere. Each Matouk throw is made for your comfort.

Styling a luxury throw is really about creating that effortless, "lived-in but curated" look. Here's how the pros do it:

The classic drape (bed)

Fold the throw in thirds lengthwise, then lay it across the foot of the bed, letting it hang evenly over both sides. This works beautifully with Matouk throws where the texture itself is the star — you don't want to hide it under a fussy fold.

The diagonal drape (sofa/chair)

Drape it over one arm of the sofa or chair, letting it cascade diagonally to the floor on the front side. This is the most "editorial" look — it reads as intentional without looking stiff. Works especially well with fringed or textured pieces like a Graccioza waffle weave.

The loose fold-over

Fold in half, then drape over the back of a sofa or the arm of a chair with the fold facing out. Simple, clean, great for smaller-scale or lighter-weight throws (cashmere, linen blends) where you want the fabric to breathe rather than pile up.

The basket toss

For rooms with more than one throw, roll or loosely fold 2–3 and place them in a basket or ladder-style blanket rack near the sofa. Great for layering multiple textures/colors (e.g., a cream Egyptian cotton throw next to a deeper jewel-toned wool one).

A few styling principles that elevate it further:

  • Contrast texture, not just color — pair a nubby waffle or bouclé throw with smoother linens/upholstery so it reads as a deliberate layer, not just "a blanket."
  • Let it move — luxury throws drape better than they fold flat; avoid tight, hotel-corner folds.
  • One statement throw per surface — resist over-layering; one beautiful throw with visible texture and drape does more than three competing ones.
  • Match the room's formality — a crisp linen or twill throw suits a more tailored space; a plush terry or chunky knit suits a cozier, layered aesthetic.
