SDH Founder and President Sigrid Wagner grew up in Europe and from a very early age was passionate about sewing, weaving and knitting. Her love of textiles continued in Upstate New York where she raised sheep and learned to spin and dye her own yarn. She became an expert weaver of natural fibers and replicated antique rugs and masterpieces for museums and clients throughout the world.
After moving to Northern California she found a way to combine her love for textiles and her genuine concern for the environment. In 1986, inspired by her own collection of antique linens handed down through generations, she founded SDH Fine European Linens. Her first line of products, The Purists® collection was sought after by high-end specialty stores who valued natural luxury linens, and within months, SDH began to flourish.
From the start, Sigrid's son and daughter, Joel Hedberg and Susan Farrell, have been an integral part of the business. Both are involved in every aspect of SDH and are proud of the products and the strong relationships enjoyed with customers, vendors, employees and craftsmen. We offer FREE standard shipping on all orders within the United States. In-stock orders will be processed within 1 - 2 business days. Ground shipping to the Northeast can be delivered in as little as 1 - 2 days, while standard shipping to the West Coast is approximately 6 - 7 business days. We will always do our best to ship items as quickly as possible, and you will receive an email with tracking information as soon as it is available. If you need your item(s) by a specific date, expedited shipping is available for most products, please call us for additional information. *Please note Heritage Park Laundry & Le Blanc detergents do not qualify for free shipping.

We can ship your order to a PO Box. To get your order sent to a PO Box, the product(s) will first ship to our warehouse in Connecticut (from the manufacturer), and then we will ship your item(s) to your PO Box. Note: this extra shipping and handling may extend the length of time it takes to receive your items. If you wish to expedite this process, you can provide an alternate address that can accept UPS or FedEx packages.
We know that purchasing luxury fine linens are an investment. That's why we take great care in helping you with every purchase down to the last detail. We are available to speak with you and offer advice on everything from pricing to color to fabric choice. We also provide complimentary fabric swatch samples and unlimited follow up consultation. The entire Fine Linen and Bath team is committed to helping you make a purchase you'll love for years to come.
We also understand that, despite our best efforts, things occasionally don't work out and items need to be returned or exchanged. We are here to help with that as well. If you are not fully satisfied with your new item please call us within 30 days of receipt so we can personally assist you.
At Fine Linen and Bath, one of our favorite things to do is say "yes." There are times, however, when the bespoke pedigree of our products dictates that we cannot accept their return.
Once the returned item(s) have been received and inspected, a full refund will be issued. All returned merchandise must comply with the following guidelines.
If you would like to exchange your item for another style or color, please call us and we will be happy to assist you with your request.
If any item is damaged upon receipt please notify us immediately and we will make arrangements for a replacement. If your return is a result of an error in the manufacturing process, you will be refunded all costs including shipping and handling. You will be also be refunded in full or have the item replaced and shipped at no cost if your return is the result of manufacturer error.
If an incorrect item was shipped in error we will replace the item as quickly as possible and issue a return label for the incorrect item at no cost to you.
Unless items are defective or incorrect, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs. Fine Linen and Bath is not responsible for any items lost or damaged during return transit. We recommend that you ship and insured you items for the full purchase price by a traceable carrier (e.g. UPS, USPS or FedEx) in some sort of shipping vessel to protect the products.Things like packaging wrap and saran wrap are not safe enough. If this method is used any damaged items will nor be refunded or sent back to you.
Fine Linen and Bath will inspect all returned merchandise. If we find it does not comply with the standards outlined above, we will return it to you without a refund. If the item is in good condition as per the (above) instructions, we will refund you the purchase price within 5 - 7 business days.

Once your order has shipped you will be emailed with tracking information that will give the estimated delivery date. If you suspect your order was delivered incorrectly or stolen, or if your package arrives damaged, it is the customer's responsibility to contact Fine Linen and Bath via phone or email within 20 days of shipment in order for us to create a case with the carrier. Beyond this time period, Fine Linen and Bath is not responsible for lost or damaged shipments and the customer must contact the carrier directly.
Product Lead Time
Most SDH Linens are custom made to order and required 6-8 weeks to ship. Certain items may be in stock and available to ship right away. If you are in need of items that are available to ship quickly, we welcome you to contact us for additional information and guidance.

Modal is made from the cellulose fiber of beechwood trees, which are renewable and require less water to grow. This makes modal sustainable and environmentally friendly. Modal sateen sheets drape beautifully, resist pilling, and are machine washable (growing softer with age). Modal fiber is also breathable for maximum comfort (wonderful for “hot” sleepers).

Wash SDH Legna Classic bedding in warm water with a gentle detergent made for fine linen. Never use fabric softener, bleach, or brighteners on SDH Linen. Tumble dry on low.
