Okay I'll admit it: it took me a couple of tries to get it tied properly turban style. For me, the key was tying my hair into a very loose bun or a ponytail not pulled all the way through (leaving a loop of hair dangling) at the nape of my neck.
Then, it's pretty simple: fold the scarf in a triangle, matte side in. Grabbing the fold with two hands near the center of the scarf but about ear width apart, tilt your chin to your chest and drape the point across your nose and forehead, pulling the fold to your hairline at the nape and catching the bun or loop of hair. Then draw the ends of the scarf forward past your ears to your forehead, sliding your hands along the fold three or four inches until you have the ends held at your forehead (but above the triangle point, which is still resting against your nose). You can then simply cross them over each other take the ends back to your hairline at the nape and tie a small knot. Go ahead and tuck in the knot ends into little fabric pocket you just created. Now take the triangle point that's resting on your nose and flip it up over where the ends crossover your forehead and tuck it in to the folds. Then take a look and if there are any little folds of excess fabric bubbling out anywhere, just use one finger and thumb to tuck them under. Once you try it a few times it'll start to get very very easy and much neater.
No breakage, tugging or pulling against the hair. Goodbye frizzies!
