Bejeweled, bespoke, and built entirely by hand. Mike + Ally bath accessories stand alone for their beauty, artistry, and performance.
In a world where even luxury decor is often mass produced, Mike + Ally is a breath of fresh air. These stunning pieces are hand-enameled by a team of artisans and custom embellished with semi-precious treasures such as Swarovski® crystals, cabochons, pearls, rhinestones, chains, gold and silver leaf, cut glass, and more. Each Mike + Ally bath accessory is a signature work of art while being an eminently functional piece of bathroom decor. That's why Mike + Ally's designs grace palaces, private yachts and planes, boutique hotels, and luxury residences around the globe.
"Visiting Mike + Ally's New York City studio is an experience unto itself," said Fine Linen and Bath founder Mary Babinski. "It's a journey into a world of opulence and beauty, with one breathtaking style after the next. There truly is something for every taste, and every design aesthetic."
An Artist Trained in Metal and Jewelry Design
Mike + Ally's luxury bathroom sets conjure thoughts of fine jewelry, and with good reason. Founder and design director Allison "Ally" Rosson formally trained as both a metalsmith and jewelry designer. After a stint at Cartier, she turned her talents to the realm of luxury bath accessories and launched Mike + Ally in 1991 to enormous acclaim. Today, the collection includes signature enamel with various designs, monograms, and embellishments; an expansive palette and a range of mediums; and the ability for clients to completely customize color to match their décor. Every piece is designed to be the ultimate in individual expression and a way to imbue a "sense of self" into any bathroom interior.
"The business grew serendipitously," Rosson said. "We became a niche in a niche market."
As a trained artist, Rosson draws inspiration from diverse sources across the worlds of fashion, design, art, and nature. "Ideas come from all over," she adds, citing everything from a Van Cleef and Arpels jewelry show to handbags and shoes to vases and store window displays. "I have to interpret in a way that we can manufacture."
Looking ahead to upcoming seasons, Rosson is willing to share that Mike + Ally will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021 with a special collection created in partnership with Swarovski®. "The timing will be good," she says.
